The South Yorkshire and South Humber Postgraduate Dean's Office serves a large, but well-connected area of Northern England incorporating a population of approximately 1.5 million people. The Centre for Postgraduate Medical and Dental Education (PGMDE) is part of the Yorkshire and Humber Strategic Health Authority and is under the general direction of the Postgraduate Dean, Professor Sarah Thomas. The Centre for PGMDE is responsible for ensuring the delivery of appropriate levels of professional and vocational training and continuing education to all levels of Medical Personnel in the Sheffield Deanery, and Dental Personnel for the whole of the Trent Region. It discharges this responsibility through a network of part time and full time employees, honorary staff and other interested clinicians.
